Description: It takes thousands of individuals to conduct an election in Harris County, the third largest and most diverse county in the nation. The duty of the County Clerk’s Elections Department is to carry out the many tasks required to ensure the county’s eligible voters have full access to the voting process and are able to cast a secure and confidential ballot. There are nearly five million residents in the county. It is not an exaggeration to say that civic-minded citizens who volunteer their time to work at the polls are essential to creating the infrastructure needed to afford election services to 2.5 million registered voters. The service of these modest American heroes is greatly appreciated. We look forward to working alongside you for many more years to come.
This REQUIRED training will enable the Precinct Chair to work the polls (Paid) as Poll Clerk, Alternate Judge or Presiding Judge of Harris County.
This Elective course will provide the foundation of knowledge to get you started within the HCRP and Harris County Elections.
